Macaron Day, March 20th!

Is anyone else excited for Macaron Day? I totally am! Especially after reading it on the Inside Vancouver blog.

Vancouver is celebrating Macaron Day this year and it is basically a charitable event with macarons. There will be free macarons at French Made Baking, but please remember to donate. There will donation boxes for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Also Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe (huneybear’s review of Thierry from earlier this year) will also be donating a portion of the macaron sales to charity (Growing Chefs! Chefs for Children’s Urban Agriculture).

So… check them out if you have time that day. I know I will!

Happy Pi Day!

I almost forgot to wish everyone a Happy Pi Day! For those who don’t know what Pi Day is, it is basically:

“an unofficial holiday commemorating the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (or 3/14 in month/day date format), since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of π in the decimal form.” – Taken off of Wikipedia

The best way of celebrating is eating pie while discussing pi, which I will most likely do on the weekend. Have you had your pie today?
